Cowan Creek Interns
Through a partnership with GEAR UP, CCAG provides a paid internship for local rising juniors and seniors. These interns work across our programs, including Levitt Amp Music Series, Farmers Market and Kids on the Creek (KOTC) programs where they work as aids for our faculty and staff, and young mentors for our students.
Project Update
We capped off the summer by tasking each of the Interns to complete a project that could be featured at the last two Levitt Amp Concerts. These students blew us away when they organized a full car show and a competitive cornhole tournament with cash prizes. Community members who participated were then invited to contribute to a community banner, to remind those who saw it of the strength contained in the people of Eastern Kentucky. These students show that the spirit of the Cowan Community Center continues on in the next generation. We are beyond thankful for their contribution and we look forward to working with many of them in next summer’s internship session.
